Can I recycle paper coffee cups?

Paper coffee cups are complicated. The paper sleeves are accepted in all local recycling programs. The lids are accepted in some local recycling programs and the cups themselves are typically disposed of in the garbage. Check to see what your municipality wants you to do, and if you’re not sure, it’s better to be safe and dispose of coffee cups in the garbage.
