Disposing of lightbulbs incorrectly is dangerous for everyone. Not only are they made of easily broken glass, they may also contain heavy metals that can leech into the earth and affect groundwater. Always check with your municipality to see if there is a Hazardous Waste Program to bring fluorescent bulbs or bulbs that contain mercury.
