Plastic pill and medication bottles are accepted in many local recycling programs, provided they are empty, clean and dry. Check the symbol on the bottom: 1 and 2 plastics are accepted in most recycling programs; 3-7 plastics are accepted in some. Check to see what your municipality accepts, and if you’re not sure, it’s better to be safe and dispose of pill and medication containers in the garbage.
